Fido, born Awosika Olayemi Josiah, grew up in Matogun, Ogun State, and found his passion for music early on in his local church choir.
Raised by a single mom, his journey from small-town beginnings to the bustling Afrobeats scene is a story of resilience and determination.
His music brings a fresh, unique sound to Afrofusion, drawing inspiration from legends like Fela Anikulapo-Kuti and modern stars like Olamide and Kizz Daniel. Fido’s melodies and lyrics tap deeply into African culture, creating a sound that’s both modern and timeless.
In 2019, Fido officially stepped into the music world, joining the PEFTI Film Institute and an artist development circle. His debut single, "Awolowo," released in August 2024, is already making waves. Produced by Iykeelvis, the track is an anthem of youth, escape, and personal freedom, inspired by the iconic Awolowo Road in Ikoyi.
Fido is just getting started. With "Awolowo" gaining attention, he's ready to take his sound even further, gearing up for more releases that will dive deeper into his journey and solidify his place in the Afrobeats world.
